DailyQuickie: Stopped 3 Bites Short
Where: Out to dinner with a friend
When: Tuesday, Nov 1st- late dinner
Why: I have always been one who eats everything on my plate, scraping up every last morsel to the point that servers often joke saying “clearly you didn’t like that at all.” It dawned on me that if servers say that to me pretty much every time, I must be doing something different than everyone else. So I looked around at the other plates with the fork and knife carefully lined up at 5 o’clock (the sign that you are done eating), and found that most other plates still had food one them. Yet the diner was done! Now, let me say that when I devour every last piece morsel, it’s not because I’m still hungry. It’s because I feel like I need to. And that’s not because it was ingrained in me at a young age to do so. I am just kind of obsessed with food. Which is not great on the waist line. In fact, I initially got into exercise to support my eating habit.
SO, I have devised a plan that I have decided to seriously stick to. STOPPING 3 BITES SHORT DURING EVERY MEAL and with each dish (even just appetizers like the Poke I am eating in the pic). By leaving 3 bites on your plate during every meal, you are saving yourself an average of 100 calories. 100 calories at every meal adds up (that’s an entire workout). Cutting those 100 calories from each meal will help me (and you) slim down.
