So who am I? I’m Laurel House - your QuickieChick, and I’m a real 34-year old chick. Yes, we all know what a “quickie” is, but this is more than that; it’s a lifestyle. Just as “quickies” are fun, exciting, sometimes unconventional, efficient, sexy, in the moment, and always (or almost always) instantly gratifying… so are LifeQuickies. These aren’t long overdrawn processes that require prep-work, expensive equipment, patience and perseverance. They are right now, getting the most out of every moment. Oh, and it’s all done on a budget (because you don’t need to be wined, dined and stay in a 5 star hotel to have a quickie… do you?). Really, there’s a Quickie solution for anything life throws your way. These are my personal DailyQuickies... because "I' don't have time" is no longer an excuse. There's always time for a Quickie...

DailyQuickie: What do you wear to an Business Party? It seems like a contradiction! In general, I like to combine couture with budget, discreet with bright. Why? To pop and make an impression, letting people remember that you were there, wearing a piece that will stick in their mind, without being obnoxious. Simultaneously, that piece should be consistent with your personality. For me… it’s often pink, super high heels.

Last night it was chilly but not frigid in LA and somehow the lack of drizzle and needlessness for a coat inspired me! Despite that fact that I have been a touch of a hermit lately due to feeling totally behind with work (I think thanks to the fact that my book just hit Amazon for pre-sale), I decided to unstrap myself from my desk and actually go out! Here’s what I selected to wear:

BCBG Dress that I call my “ick dress” (a go-to that every chick needs to have)
DailyQuickie: Dim Sum Sunday Brunch outfit… Notice the long sweater (since I will likely eat too much and feel like I need to hide), pink-soled shoes (I took them to the shoe guy and asked him to paint the soles QuickieChick Pink!), and adorable applique tank top (It’s my flair).
Off to eat dumplings! My fave Sunday food :)
